Sebelumnya, atlet bertinggi badan 150cm itu berlaga di kelas 45kg, seperti saat meraih medali perunggu SEA Games 2021 di Vietnam dan menjadi juara dunia nomor clean & jerk di Manama, Bahrain 2022.
“Menaikkan berat badan itu tidak sulit, tapi untuk menambah berat badan itu butuh waktu.. perlu juga diolah di berat 49kg,” ungkap Nafis tentang tantangan terberat yang ia hadapi saat naik kelas.
Nafis berusaha meningkatkan total angkatannya, namun barbel seberat 94kg pada percobaan clean & jerk terakhirnya masih terlalu berat untuknya.
Lifter yang mengenal olahraga angkat besi semasa duduk di bangku SMPN 5 Blora ini, akan berusaha memperbaiki rekor terbaiknya di angkatan 170kg; Snatch 75kg dan clean & jerk 95 yang diraihnya pada kejuaraan dunia junior 2021 di Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
